A self-professed crate digger and amateur musical anthropologist, Xander dove off the deep end into country, folk, and rock—sounds all woven expertly into Three Waltzes. He also credits the local music scenes of Pittsburgh, Chicago, and now New York City, his home for the last decade, for pushing him to grow as a songwriter. This drive to ever improve eventually brought him success playing shows with Justin Townes Earle, Tyler Childers, Robbie Fulks, BJ Barham of American Aquarium, and Howe Gelb of Giant Sand.

Brule County Bad Boys was born in a tiny little Brule County, South Dakota jail cell. Singer/Songwriter Josh Coletto found himself with nothing but time, a stack of paper & and a void that could only be filled by writing. Finally back on the streets with a guitar in hand, there were songs to write. Josh & Tex got together to hit the studio & begin production on the Brule County Bad Boys debut album “Chamberlain”. The bad boys began to grow, adding some of the slickest musicians around to the mix. It wasn’t long before the gang took the show to honky tonks & back alleys of Troy, New York & beyond. Telling tales of an unjust system, while dancing away the pain, the boys began gaining admirers, enemies, & devoted fans. Keep your ears & eyes peeled for their live shows & upcoming releases.

THEO LAWRENCE w/ Wolf Van Elfmand

THEO LAWRENCE w/ Wolf Van Elfmand

For the past 10 years, Theo Lawrence has been making a name for himself as France's favorite songbird. A truly one-of-a-kind country singer and genuine keeper of the flame, Lawrence came into his own on his Austin-made 2023 LP release, Cherie, and on his all-acoustic album, Pickin' & Singin'. His most recent release, a duet All Fifty States (with Melissa Carper), is a playful back-and-forth about two people in love who don’t always see eye to eye. It's a perfect showcase of storytelling, connection, and the artistry Theo brings to every song.

Lawrence pens classic love songs and delivers with a croon straight out of the Charlie Rich and Ray Price golden years. In recent years, he has played a pivotal role in reviving an interest for Country Music in Europe, and with his recent move to Austin, TX, Theo Lawrence is bringing his honed craft back to its American cradle.

Raised in Colorado, guitarist and songwriter Wolf van Elfmand creates with inspiration from a swath of American roots music. Since 2019 he’s released 5 records including Don’t Call It Country, which hit shelves on March 1st 2024. Wolf is undoubtedly a familiar-looking, archetypal figure from a version of the West, with musical DNA patchwork comprised of a 50s and 60s folk revival vocal vibrato plus round and sturdy fingerstyle guitar picking with hands trying to figure what a Rocky Mountain-raised, less acrobatic Chet Atkins might have sounded like. His work is a product of a good sense of humor, a good heart, and his ability to ignore the omnipresent whispers from life asking him to be still.

EUGENE TYLER BAND
Oct

EUGENE TYLER BAND

Indie-bluegrass trio Eugene Tyler Band is a road band, cutting their teeth on the bluegrass festival circuit and clubs across the northeast. But their newest record, Low It Goes, captures the free-wheeling intensity of those live shows and showcases the cathartic, irreverent songwriting that has won them fans all over the country. As songwriter Eugene Gardner says, “You learn a lot about yourself as a band when you’re playing 3 hours a night, and it’s forced us to step up our game in a way that I’m really proud of.” Sharing stages with bands like The Kitchen Dwellers, Driftwood, Mountain Grass Unit, and Town Mountain, ETB has carved out a unique voice in the bluegrass scene, with cutting, often humorous songs, and a fast & loose approach that calls back to influences like the Clash and Drive-By Truckers.

Producing the album themselves, the band made a point to take the varied instrumentation of their live shows into the studio. “Writing on different instruments lets us explore different emotional ranges that we might not otherwise get to if we had to rely on the same lineup all the time.” That emotional range comes through on songs like ‘Golden Years’ and ‘Sit Down’, soaring to a wall of acoustic sound, the band barreling forward with abandon. The title track, ‘Low it Goes’, sees the band at their most pleading, telling a story of people who are lonely around their families, lonely around their friends, lonely with their lovers, and lonely out in the world. The album has its fair share of lighter moments, from the country-sounding ‘Cheap Beer’ to a fired-up take on Tom Petty’s ‘ Apartment Song’, balancing out the acerbic attack that permeates the rest of the album.

Eugene Gardner (vocals/guitar/mandolin/tenor guitar), Danny Tyler (banjo/guitar) and Marc Jaffee (upright bass/vocals) all grew up within a few miles of each other in New York’s Hudson Valley, where they are currently based.

BRENNEN LEIGH w/ Nick Dunbar

THIS IS A TICKETED EVENT - purchase tickets HERE

When it comes to Brennen Leigh, there is no question. Always and assuredly precise in her ability to craft country music of the highest caliber, her latest album - the uncompromisingly titled Don’t You Ever Give Up On Love - is packed full of playful earworms, tender tearjerkers and honky tonk quintessence that two steps straight to the heart.

Offered as a declaration for the desperate, the titular track that opens the album was initially composed by friend and fellow musician Elijah Ocean, who had completed a portion of the song with Leigh in mind. “My immediate reply was ‘Don’t you dare finish that without me,’”says Leigh. Bright and blissful, the resulting co-write boasts a cinematic quality akin to the soundtrack of a countrified happily-ever-after ending.

Nodding to some of the more cautionary cuts of artists like Loretta Lynn, Leigh quickly removes herself from a rubbish romantic relationship in stride on the pedal steel heavy “Dumpster Diving.” Although self-described as a “trashy little tune,” do not discard the wisdom earned from Leigh’s brief suffering by “settling for less than we deserve in love.”

Born in California, and spending the last 15 years in Colorado, Nick Dunbar is no stranger to the wild west and the culture that comes with it. Nick’s captivating debut solo album “Little Country” was released in early 2022, and is stacked with some of Colorado’s finest musicians. On the record he creatively intertwines the classic Western swing and Honky Tonk sounds of greats like Lefty Frizzell, Bob Wills and Ernest Tubb, with the country western traditions of Merl Haggard and Willie Nelson. His songwriting is playful and humorous but also honest and cathartic.

Roberta Faceplant is a honky tonk hurricane from Philadelphia. Safely in the middle of a Venn diagram where kitsch meets bitch, the five-piece Outlaw Americana band has been called “a cowpunk miracle” and been compared to “Southern Culture on the Skids fronted by Laura Bell Bundy.” It’s Country, but you can hear the City.

Raucous guitars, a driving rhythm section, and the raw, powerful, and soulful vocals of frontwoman Katie Feeney make Roberta Faceplant a five-fingered fist of Country grit. Lyrically, Feeney and the band pull no punches, tackling current events with tongue in cheek humor and rage. Peppered with Bob Seger-style working-man themes and a dose of Southern Rock, the band still holds tight to the true spirit of country music - three chords and the truth.

Over the last year, Roberta Faceplant has performed at venues such as Skinny Dennis in Brooklyn, NY and at events like Baby’s First Rodeo in Philadelphia, PA, while opening for emerging artists like Emily Nenni, Dylan Earl, Hannah Juanita, Olivia Ellen Lloyd, Rebecca Porter, and more. The band’s last single received radio play on stations like KOOP 91.7 FM and KLKT 107.9 FM in Texas; NOLA County Radio in New Orleans; and WXPN 88.5 in Philadelphia.

Roberta Faceplant released their debut EP, Yee Haw Stuff, in 2024 and is releasing a follow up six-song EP, Brisket & Cigarettes, on September 26, 2025.

NCC PRESENTS "ORIGINALS ONLY "
Sep

9:00 PM21:00

NCC PRESENTS "ORIGINALS ONLY "

Northeast Country Coalition Presents: “Originals Only” - A night for the workers in song, showcasing the best of emerging original Americana music, featuring:

RENE LOPEZ is a Bronx-born singer-songwriter whose music walks the gritty line between truth and myth, blending Americana,Latin rhythms, Outlaw Country and rock & roll into something unmistakably his own. Raised in a New York steeped in musical legacy—his father, René López Sr., was a trumpet player with Ray Barretto and Tipica ’73—Lopez inherited a love of rhythm and melody that pulses through everything he creates. But Rene’s path has never been about simply preserving tradition. Instead, he builds from it—fusing the old-school with street-corner honesty, genre-bending grooves, and emotionally raw storytelling. Over the years, Lopez has been called a “one-man song factory” (NPR’s Alt.Latino) and hailed for his ability to channel everything from bolero and cha-cha to funk, folk, and doo-wop. But what makes his current work resonate so deeply is his refusal to hide—behind personas, behind polish, behind the past. Whether singing over timbales and Cuban tres or confessing his struggles on a dusty Americana backbeat, Rene Lopez is chasing something real.

ALEXANDRA JAMES is a genre-bending singer-songwriter grown in California and based in Brooklyn. Equal parts outlaw country and folk lullaby, with an education in jazz music, she is a unique blend of sound and influence. First and foremost she is a storyteller, using her quietly powerful voice to deliver raw and personal lyrics. She and her band, the Danger Boys, deliver an energetic set of original music full of emotional depth, toe-tapping grooves, and lush vocal harmony.

PLEASURE HORSE is a rollicking Cosmicana-Country band based out of Minneapolis. Their style feels like a cross between the dusty road ballads of Townes Van Zandt and the rock-infused Americana of Tom Petty, creating a blend that's both nostalgic and relevant. “Pleasure Horse offers just a little of just about everything you’ve ever loved about country music: beer-soaked heartbreak and twang, a little Tex-Mex and a little rock and roll.” ~Dave Hoenack of Hymie’s Vintage Records

They don't call it "The Honky Tonk Circus" for nothin'!

Neon Moons are a 5-9 piece country band, depending on who’s available, that was born with one goal, to make people dance. Based in New York’s Hudson Valley, the Neon Moons have been playing honkytonk nights for the last 5 or so years and are set to release their debut album, recorded at Metropolitan Sounds and Basement Floods Records, in the spring of 2024. With half the band hailing from Texas, Louisiana, and California, and the other half from New York and New Hampshire, and Connecticut, The Neon Moons straddle the line between good old country western and east coast blues jam band. Regardless of how you define them, you’re gonna have a good time.
