Country music in New York might die like a sidewalk crack bloom on a well trodden path. Formed by Andrew Spaulding (Pill) and Oscar Allen Guinn (Rhinestone) Quartz Casino Band thrives in the Brooklyn soil: watered by whiskey, fertilized by lead paint flakes, and the J train’s lullaby.  Where the train goes the track goes first; respect to those who sang before is the key to country. QCB touches on the music of Steve Earle, Eagles, Lee Hazlewood, and, of course, George Jones.  The diversity of songwriting is apparent, no one song sounds the same as the last, but they’re all complimentary like a good plate of country cooking should be.  Share a beer and a tear, have a party if it’s hearty, Quartz Casino Band will be there for both.

NCC PRESENTS "ORIGINALS ONLY " with Bourbon Sprawl, Hal and Pals, Grim River

Northeast Country Coalition Presents: “Originals Only” - A night for the workers in song, showcasing the best of emerging original Americana music, featuring:

BOURBON SPRAWL Bourbon Sprawl started as a band to serve the country-underserved market of the greater tri-state area with classic country songs to make you weep in your beer or scoot a boot. Live, they play the faves from Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, George Jones, Steve Earle, Roger Miller, Justin Townes Earle, Tom T. Hall and more. With their first EP of all original music, the band is taking the next step into a classic country-inspired future.

HAL AND PALSFormer WNYer Halle Ruth Cook’s folk outfit Hal & Pals blends eras on the new single “Not the Champ (I’m Alright, Ma).” The track marries 60s Greenwich Village folk instrumentation–fingerpicked guitar and harmonica–with Cook’s distinctively light and quirky vocal delivery, which adds a contemporary charm to the mix. In just over two minutes, the song paints a picture of strained family ties with evocative, personal lyrics. Fans of legends like Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell with feel at home here, but it won’t be lost on fans of contemporary folk artists like Sierra Farrell or The Tallest Man On Earth, either. A refreshing folk sound with local roots, “Not the Champ” is a compelling listen” - Buffaloblog.com

The NEON MOONS

The Neon Moons are not your grandfather’s country band. Since forming loosely in 2018, they’ve helped ignite a honky tonk dance scene across the region. Their sound fuses ’90s country songwriting with jam-band improvisation and groove-forward arrangements — think Hank Williams meets Phish. Their shows are sweaty, celebratory, and built for movement.

Miller, the band’s lead singer and songwriter, grew up outside San Diego in a town “twenty minutes inland where it’s full-on cowboy country.” Rodeos, two-stepping, and his mother’s shared birthday with Willie Nelson were early influences. After moving to New York to work on a farm, Miller stumbled into music almost by accident.

“I started doing honky tonk nights just because nobody else was doing it, and I really wanted to dance,” he said…“There’s no wrong way to move to a song,” Miller said. “Just do it.”

TEXAS TAKEOVER featuring CORY CROSS & PATTON MAGEE

  • Google Calendar ICS

Texas native CORY CROSS has been honing his specific brand of country music for over a decade. Getting his start playing guitar in church, Cory began crafting his own songs after being inspired by songwriters like Townes Van Zandt and John Prine. Now making the rounds at dance halls and dives across Texas, as well as sold out shows in Los Angeles and New York City, Cory and his band put on a performance that is equal parts rough-n-rowdy and tenderly intimate. Utilizing classic country instrumentation from steel guitars and fiddle, Cory’s band infuses their style of honky tonk with garage rock energy coming from fuzzy electrics and a thumping rhythm section. The Burden is made up of musicians that each bring their wide and unique influences to create a sound that is both nostalgic and fresh. Cory‘s debut full length album, “There’s More”, is a culmination of years of paying dues and cutting teeth. The fourteen songs are an honest look into the life of a working musician that has lived the words he wrote. Cory Cross and the Burden have played with notable and established acts such as Joshua Ray Walker, Summer Dean, and Jeremy Pinnel. They continue to play regularly around Texas at legendary venues like Continental Club in Austin and the famous Stockyards in Fort Worth, as well as national tours through Los Angeles, Nashville, and New York City.”

Carrying New York wit down the Santa Fe Trail on his debut solo project, PATTON MAGEE is carving out the next chapter of the Great American Songbook. Born in Texas to Louisiana parents and raised in constant transit alongside nine brothers and sisters, Patton took in the United States through the backseat window of their GMC Savannah passenger van as his family moved from the Gulf Coast to the San Francisco bay, then the Rocky Mountains and finally the Carolinas. Attending college in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, Patton co-formed rock’n roll band The Nude Party with his new college classmates. Trading that GMC Savannah for a Chevrolet Van, he penned a minor hit that took the band across the country and Europe many times, opening tours for Jack White, The Arctic Monkeys, and Orville Peck, and taking the stage at major festivals like Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Austin City Limits. Finally settled a while in New York City, the ultimate respite for all the world’s transients, he is breaking into a new world of Country-Western Americana Rock’n Roll with a true traveler’s voice - invoking the Arizona desert gunfighter ballads of Marty Robbins, the NYC quick fix literary hits of Lou Reed, slinky bayou sounds of Dr John, and center of the USA rock & roll rapscallion-ism of Chuck Berry. Well equipped with timeless tales of heartbreak, death, and dilemma, Patton’s latest stake on songwriting is a fresh buffet of many Americas touching on one plate.

JP HARRIS

Hailing from Montgomery, AL, JP Harris had long fashioned himself a carpenter who did halfway-decent campfire renditions of old country tunes, but turned suddenly to songwriting in his mid twenties after years without the slightest ambition toward “music business” of any sort. He would assemble a band, trade his work truck for an old Econoline van, and fifteen years would elapse before he would reluctantly add the term “professional” in front of his title of “musician.”

In a musical landscape of period-correct reproduction, “outlaw” internet posturing, and flavor-of-the-month variants on country, “JP Harris Is A Trash Fire” burns bright as a dumpster ablaze in a Walmart parking lot on a moonless night; some will fear it, some will gravitate to its acrid warmth, and most will have no idea what to make of the situation.

Harris has been steadily elbowing the definitive boundaries of “country music” wider with every album, both sonically and lyrically, and his latest piece of self described “Avant-Country” is no exception. Even within the rapidly growing world of “underground” country music, Harris still considers himself an outsider, content to inhabit a gray area where punk rock ethos, folk art aesthetic, and the workingman’s ballad mingle.

When he’s not touring, JP Harris can be found fixing historic houses, riding old motorcycles, or picking through scrap piles for useable refuse.

Born Amelia Einhorn and raised in Mill Valley, she was steeped in the sounds of John Denver, Iris DeMent, The Beatles, and Peter, Paul and Mary. After studying Recorded Music at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute, she began shaping a sound all her own—one that blends folk, country, and bluegrass into what she calls “Critter Country.”

Her debut EP, Tales from a Bird’s Bedroom (2024), introduced her as a striking new voice in indie folk, praised by Earmilk for its “rich sonics, evocative storytelling, and expressive vocal lines.” Since returning to the West Coast, Meels has shared stages with Old Crow Medicine Show, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Molly Tuttle, and Kaitlin Butts.

Recent singles The Wizard, Willow Song and Vultures showcase her signature mix of humor, heart, and vulnerability—turning personal stories into universal anthems. Roberta Faceplant is a honky tonk hurricane from Philadelphia. Safely in the middle of a Venn diagram where kitsch meets bitch, the five-piece Outlaw Americana band has been called “a cowpunk miracle” and been compared to “Southern Culture on the Skids fronted by Laura Bell Bundy.” It’s Country, but you can hear the City.

Raucous guitars, a driving rhythm section, and the raw, powerful, and soulful vocals of frontwoman Katie Feeney make Roberta Faceplant a five-fingered fist of Country grit. Lyrically, Feeney and the band pull no punches, tackling current events with tongue in cheek humor and rage. Peppered with Bob Seger-style working-man themes and a dose of Southern Rock, the band still holds tight to the true spirit of country music - three chords and the truth.

Over the last year, Roberta Faceplant has performed at venues such as Skinny Dennis in Brooklyn, NY and at events like Baby’s First Rodeo in Philadelphia, PA, while opening for emerging artists like Emily Nenni, Dylan Earl, Hannah Juanita, Olivia Ellen Lloyd, Rebecca Porter, and more. The band’s last single received radio play on stations like KOOP 91.7 FM and KLKT 107.9 FM in Texas; NOLA County Radio in New Orleans; and WXPN 88.5 in Philadelphia.

Roberta Faceplant released their debut EP, Yee Haw Stuff, in 2024 and is releasing a follow up six-song EP, Brisket & Cigarettes, on September 26, 2025.

She served up a steady diet of American songwriters from Karen Dalton to Shania Twain to Dwight Yoakam on the kitchen radio day after day. Red’s father, a lifelong bass player, took it from there, teaching him mandolin, banjo, bass, and guitar. Forever restless, Red ventured through dozens of genres before returning to his Country roots.

Join us in celebrating the KING, uh huh!!

The Lustre Kings boast a devoted international fanbase and continue to perform over 150 dates a year, including regular stops at nightspots, festivals and casinos like Tip Top Deluxe, Skinny Dennis and The Continental Club; Viva Las Vegas, Heritage Folk Festival and the Rockin 50s Fest; and the Potawamoti Hotel. Gamsjager, a Gretsch guitars endorsee who has taught for the National Guitar Workshop, has been a guest at prestigious venues ranging from Kennedy Center (Washington DC) to the Montreal Jazz Fest.

Beginning with 1995’s Mark Gamsjager Rocks & The Lustre Kings Roll, the band staked a claim to a modern take on the reverb-driven sounds of early rock, leaning also on touchstones of country, blues and R&B. Other artists, like the famed “Queen of Rock,” Wanda Jackson, hear the authenticity in The Lustre Kings. Perhaps that’s why she hired Gamsjager and the group as her backing unit for many tours. “I have worked with many bands around the world through the years,” Jackson says, “and none are better than Mark Gamsjager and The Lustre Kings. Their fine showmanship and musical ability make them the greatest in my book. They rock!!”
