JACK FISTER's WILDLIFE

Jack Fister’s Wildlife is a Honky-Tonk Country-Rock band based in Austin, Texas. They play original and classic two-stepping Texas music, Willie-Waylon 60’s/70’s outlaw style, blended with traditional Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzel early honky-tonk as well as Merle Haggard, Buck Owens Bakersfield Sound country-rock. They play a weekly residency at White Horse Saloon, and regularly at Sagebrush, Sam’s Town Point, other venues on the Texas and national Honky-Tonk circuit, and have opened for Gary P. Nunn, Asleep At The Wheel, Pat Reedy, Vincent Neil Emerson, John Moreland, Todd Day Wait, Jamie Wyatt, and been on a festival with The Deslondes and Emily Nenni. Frontman Jack Fister, born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, switches between acoustic/electric guitar, backed by drums, bass, pedal steel. He began his music career in South St. Louis’ DIY Hardcore Punk scene but was always drawn to Country music by its honest poetry, depth, and narrative. As a young man he began touring as a guitarist, then hitch hiking, busking across the US for years until deciding to settle in Austin, Texas to focus on his music career and find a home within the local Honky Tonk community.
